Yes, I do have a couple of very nutritious kefir recipes to share with you, whether you are a Champion Juicer user or not. Raw food eaters will find these kefir recipes simply great. Give them a try this coming weekend.

Calcium Rich Kefir Cocktail with Champion Juicer

• 3 organic Kale leaves
• 4-5 carrots (Clean and peel. Remove green tops)
• 1 green apple (Remove skin and seeds)
• A handful of parsley
• 3/4 cup Kefir milk
• ice cubes (optional)

Extract the juice of the leafy vegetables using the Champion Juicer screen alternating with carrot strips and green apple segments. Champion Juicer is not very efficient when juicing small leafy vegetables especially wheat grass and pine leaves.

Mix kefir milk with the extracted juice and blend well.

Garden Salad Kefir Lunch Express with Champion Juicer

• 3 broccoli flowerets
• 4-5 carrots (Clean and peel. Remove green tops)
• 2 stalks celery
• 1/2 green pepper
• 1 clove garlic
• 3/4 cup Kefir milk
• ice cubes (optional)

Extract the juice of these vegetables using the Champion Juicer screen. Blend well with the Kefir milk to give yourself a full bodied raw lunch hour smoothies that is well balanced. The wide variety of vegetables provides the vital nutrients your body craves at noon. Those of you who prefer a lighter lunch will find this kefir recipe a gem. The powerful anti-oxidant found in this combination helps neutralizing free radicals too.

Since my last posting, I have received requests from quite a few readers for some simpler Kefir recipe. I dug deep into my memory bank and I remember one Kefir recipe that all my girls love, before I pampered them recently with the more sophisticated Kefir recipe using Champion Juicer.

Here it is,

Apple Pie Kefir with Champion Juicer

• 3/4 cup chilled Kefir milk
• 1/4 cup apple sauce
• a squeeze of lime juice (for extra tang)
• a sprinkle of cinnamon powder (optional)

Mix well or blend all the above ingredients.

To make the apple sauce, you may use some green apples or red apples (for sweeter taste). Peel the apples and discard all seeds. Homogenize the apple segments using the Champion Juicer homogenized blank to get a nice textured raw apple sauce. Squeeze some lime juice into the apple sauce to slow down the oxidation process and of course for the extra tang. Those of you who has yet to own a Champion Juicer, you may buy the ready made apple sauce with no sugar added (it may not be raw though).

Watermelon Kefir with Champion Juicer

• 3 cups red watermelon chunks (discard the green rind but retain the white layer)
• 1/2 cup orange juice (discard peel and seeds but retain white pith)
• 2 cups chilled Kefir milk
• ice cubes (optional)
• mint leaves (for garnishing)

Extract the juice of watermelon and orange using Champion Juicer juicing screen. Blend all the ingredients well to get a foamy kefir drink that tastes very unique. You may feed some extra mint leaves into the feeding chamber of Champion Juice if you like its cooling effect in the tongue. Be creative and enjoy !

After I posted the Kefir Recipes with Champion Juicer #1, a reader wrote to me and told me about her Type 2 Diabetes condition. We were pondering on whether the raw food diet could actually help to reverse diabetes. I believe raw food diet is able to keep the blood sugar in good check without excessive medication but to be completely cured of diabetes and go back to the “eat as-you-like” type of diet, I think it’s not possible.

• 1 cup carrot juice
• 1 cup tomato juice
• 1 cup of chilled Kefir

Extract the peeled carrots and firm tomatoes with Champion Juicer juicing screen. Feed carrot strips into the Champion Juicer feeding chamber alternating with segmented tomatoes. Fold Kefir into the juice mixture and blend well.

To enjoy a savory drink, you may add a pinch of Himalayan salt and a clove of raw garlic to the mixture. What a versatile recipe with Champion Juicer.

I have been having great fun with some juicer recipes involving Kefir milk. Kefir milk is an excellent source of probiotics. Champion Juicer’s Kefir Breakfast Pick-Me-Up

• 1/2 cup frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or blackberries)
• 1 frozen banana
• 1/2 cup orange juice
• 3/4 cup Kefir milk
• 3 tablespoon instant oat (optional)
• raw honey (optional)
• ice cubes (optional)

Extract the orange juice with Champion Juicer’s juicing screen.

Homogenize the frozen berries and banana using Champion Juicer’s homogenize blank.

Combine all ingredients and shake well or you may blend with a blender.

Champion Juicer’s Tropical Kefir Dream

• 1/4 cup pineapple juice
• 2 frozen bananas

Champion Juicer delivers a well extracted green papaya juice that is rich in papain enzyme. I am going to share with you two great enzyme drink recipes for the day and night.

Champion Juicer’s Papaya Passion

• 6 slices of green papaya (half ripe)
• lime (discard seeds, keep the rind intact)
• a sprig of mint leaves
• passion fruit (remove seeds)
• crushed ice (optional)

Peel green papaya, discard seeds and slice length wise into long strips to feed into the feeding chamber of Champion Juicer. Alternate mint leaves with green papaya slices and lime segments as Champion Juicer is not very efficient in juicing leafy vegetables especially herbs.

Champion Juicer’s Sweet Dream Cocktail

• 2 slices of green papaya (half ripe)
• 1 slice pineapple
• 1 ripened banana
• 1/2 cup kefir milk or plain yogurt
• crushed ice (optional)

Prepare pineapple the same way as the papaya to extract its juice with Champion Juicer. Use the Champion Juicer screen for juicing and the homogenize blank to process the banana. Mix all the ingredients and blend them with a shaker to prepare yourself an absolutely delicious bedtime drink. Head for bed for a good night sleep.

I am in the mood for some healthy, nutrient packed cool summer treats this week. Frozen desserts need not be loaded with sugar content and calories if we care to make creative variations to its original recipe. This healthy fun popsicles recipe using the Champion Juicer  is so easy and you can even involve your young children. Instill in them an awareness for healthy eating habits since young so that it becomes their way of life.

Champion Juicer’s Healthy Fun Popsicles (suitable for the lactose intolerant)

• 3.5 oz (100g) Strawberries
• 3.5 oz (100g) ripe Bananas, peeled
• 2.5 cups Kefir milk or yogurt
• 1/3 cup raw organic honey
• 1 cup warm water

Melt the raw organic honey in the warm water and let it cool down before you blend in the Kefir milk. Separate Kefir mixtures into 2 equal portions. Use Champion Juicer  blank to homogenize the strawberries and bananas separately. Rinse juicer parts by running cool water through the feeding chamber of Champion Juicer while it is operating.

In separate mixing bowls, add homogenized strawberries and bananas to each portion of Kefir mixture and blend well. Pour fruit mixtures into popsicle moulds of your choice and freeze till solid.

Be creative to form these  Champion Juicer’s Healthy Fun Popsicles into different shapes and sizes. It makes an ideal summer afternoon snacks or even an interesting finger dessert during your child’s birthday party.

I could not imagine what I would miss out in life without the Champion Juicer. After the Lemon Kefir Ice Cream, I experimented with an old fashioned Vanilla flavored Ice Cream which I think it’s nice. To it, I added banana to give a unique fragrance and creamy texture.

Banana is one of the most nutritious energy generating fruits on planet earth. It contains fiber, rich in potassium and high level of vitamins and minerals. Vitamins A, C, a full range of the B vitamins, Calcium, Riboflavin, Thiamine, Niacin,  Magnesium, traces of Iron, Zinc and Folic Acid are all found in varying amounts in one banana.

Again, I took out the regular milk and replaced it with the all time good and healthy Kefir milk and cream. You may use yogurt if you are not able to get kefir milk. You, the lactose intolerant, are going to love me for this recipe.

Champion Juicer’s Banana Kefir Ice Cream

• 1 quart (1 liter) Kefir milk or yogurt
• 2 cups Kefir cream
• 1/4 cups raw organic honey
• 2 teaspoons Vanilla
• 3 eggs, lightly beaten
• 2 ripe bananas, peeled

Homogenize the bananas with Champion Juicer. Whisk all ingredients to form a smooth mixture. Pour mixture into a freezing tray and freeze for 2 hours. Use a fork to scrape the mixture. Repeat this every 2 hours for a couple of times.

Leave the mixture to freeze till fully solid. Slice the solid into long strips. Feed through the Champion Juicer’s feeding chamber. Use Champion Juicer homogenize blank the same way you would for the sorbet.

Serve immediately or store in freezer container. This Champion Juicer ice cream recipe yields approximately 2 quarts of delicious ice cream.

I do not know about you, being an advocate for healthy food, the thought of consuming a generous scoop of ice cream would overwhelm me with guilt. The plain truth is, I love ice cream !! • 2 1/2 cups kefir milk (or plain yogurt)
• 1/3 cup lemon juice (juice the lemon without the seeds, skin and pith)
• 2 tablespoon Lemon zest
• 1/2 cup thickened cream
• 2/3 cup honey (adjust the amount according to taste)

Juice the lemon segments with Champion Juicer to obtain 1/3 cup of lemon juice. Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk until well blended.
Freeze the mixture till solid. Cut the frozen mixture into long strips to push through the feeding chamber of Champion Juicer. Use Champion Juicer homogenized blank for this process. Serve immediately or store the Lemon Kefir Ice Cream in an air tight container and keep in the freezer.

Makes approximately 1 quart (1 liter).
